INVITATION

Dear Colleagues,

It is my pleasure to invite you to participate in the 5th Israeli Conference on Robotics 2016 (ICR2016). ICR is the leading robotics conference and exhibition in Israel, dedicated to strengthening Israel's position as a world leader in high-end robotics through local and international partnerships and collaborations. ICR2016 offers a unique opportunity to explore new business opportunities, and exploit the synergy between academia and industry.

The theme for ICR2016 is "Innovation meets Robotics in Israel." It echoes the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of the Israeli high-tech industry, and the continued worldwide leadership of the Israeli robotics industry in security, medical, and personal robotics.

This conference is held at an opportune time when the robotics field is experiencing a dramatic growth worldwide and is quickly advancing to the forefront of the technologies of the 21st century. Keeping with tradition as a "start-up nation," Israel possesses a unique ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship. Together with its wide range of sophisticated high-tech industries, including ICT, IoT, Computer Vision, Automatic Control, and AI, Israel is ready to lead the robotics revolution to new highs. Join us to get a first-hand account of the technologies that power the robotics revolution and meet the developers who drive Israel’s innovation spirit.

The scientific program includes plenary talks by internationally recognized speakers, panel discussions, an entrepreneurs forum, and presentations of contributed and invited papers in several technical tracks. The format of the conference will allow for networking and for business meetings.

ICR2016 will host ISRACAS’ 2016, the 16th Israeli Symposium on Computer-Aided Surgery, Medical Robotics, and Medical Imaging.

A large robotics exhibition during the two days of the conference will showcase local and international developers of robotics and related products. It will provide an opportunity to participants and exhibitors to interact and explore mutual interests in product development and technology transfer. A Startup Pavilion will showcase robotics start-up companies and entrepreneurs, seeking partnerships and investments. The exhibition will be open to the conference attendees, and to registered professionals.

We gratefully acknowledge the generous support of the city of Herzliya, whose energetic Mayor, Mr. Moshe Padlon, is committed to making Herzliya an international center for robotics education, research, and entrepreneurship.

We are looking forward to welcoming you in Herzlyia
